Healthy Help: Snacking

Hey lovelies, so this is Saturdays post and I decided that I would a slightly more 'healthy lifestyle' kinda post as it is coming up to summer I know I, like so many other people are trying to get fitter for their vacations and I know that although exercise is a big part of getting fitter and a major part if you are trying to shed a few pounds. As I am only trying to get a more toned and sleeker body, I didn't to do a 'how to lose weight' post as I honestly have no idea! I have never needed to lose weight, if anything, I need to put it on, I am a feather!

So while exercise is a MASSIVE part of getting fit, so are your eating habits. And I'm not saying everyone has bad eating habits, although I know I do, I don't and won't deny that, what I'm trying to do is arm you guys with a better knowledge of what IS and ISN'T good to snack on. I have a tendency during the day, especially if I am home alone (which can be quite often as both my parents work full time), I will get to a point of boredom where I feel hungry. And at this point instead of finding myself something to do or getting out of the house, although this can be just as hard given the weather I am dealing with at the moment, I will make myself a cup of tea or coffee, grab five or six small cookies and watch some awful day time TV show. When I've finished the cookies, I make myself ANOTHER tea or coffee and a sandwich to watch another film or show. And this is really bad I know, and I'm filling myself up on empty calories and then not being hungry for a proper dinner.

However recently, because I am on a fitness regime I have been making a MAJOR effort to eat a little healthier. I've not cut out all of the sweets and chocolate that we all know and love but making an effort to eat a smaller quantity of them. Like instead of having 5 or 6 cookies, I limit myself to 2 and break them in half to make it seem like I'm eating more. It actually works! Another thing I do is not eating all my snacks at once, I try and eat them slowly through out the film or TV show I am watching. Once the show or film has finished instead of making a sandwich, I will make a tea or coffee and leave the kitchen. I won't root around the cupboards to see what mum bought last time she went grocery shopping, because that then tempts me to eat.

So Happy Snacking guys! I hope this helped in anyway it possibly could, and I hope you all get the beach bodies you are craving!
